Three men will appear in court charged with the murder of a man who was found dead in Liverpool city centre.
Stuart Smith, 33, from London, died during the early hours of Sunday morning following an alleged assault close to a number of popular bars and nightclubs.
Detectives investigating his killing arrested four suspects at Anfield during Liverpool's game against Arsenal later that day.
Merseyside Police said detectives do not believe Mr Smith's killing is football or gang related or that he knew his attackers.
Emergency workers were called to Back Colquitt Street following reports that Mr Smith had been assaulted. He was taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital where he died a short time later.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later by a Home Office pathologist to establish the cause of death.
Police charged Joseph Walker, 27, Mark McEwen, 39, and Michael Samuels, 39, with Mr Smith's murder.
A 33-year-old arrested in connection with the investigation was released without charge, a force spokeswoman added.
Walker, of Tintail Way, Middlesex, McEwen, of Angel Park Gardens, Brixton, south London and Samuels, of St James's Road, Croydon, will appear at Liverpool City Magistrates' Court.
