Appeal after 16 year old student is assaulted in Preston

POLICE are appealing for information after a student was assaulted as he stood outside shops in Preston with his friends.

The offence took place at 3pm on Monday 3rd September 2012 when the 16 year old student was stood outside the Indulgence shop on Manchester Road opposite Cardinal Newman College.

A man has engaged the group in conversation before head-butting the victim once to the head. He was not injured.

The offender is described as being white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 10inches tall with a shaven head, stubble and spoke in a local accent. He was wearing a white jumper, black jeans and had a black and tan Rottweiler type dog with him.

Sergeant Chris Barton said: “I would appeal to anybody that witnessed this incident or with any information about the man responsible to come forward and contact PC 3887 Rob Costigan at Preston Police Station on 101.”
