Police officers from across the UK joined their colleagues from Greater Manchester to pay tribute to fallen PC Nicola Hughes.

Thousands of people answered the call by Greater Manchester Police to join them in paying tribute to the memory of PC Nicola Hughes.

"Nicola, in her dedication and professionalism, in the way she carried out her duties, showed that policing is not about muscle but reason, restraint and intelligence.

"Her family were so proud of Nicola. She was a fighter.

"She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
