Detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a racially aggravated assault in Wallasey in case he has information that could help their investigation.
Officers are investigating the incident, which happened on Sandridge Road, Wallasey on August 9, 2012 at around 8.30pm when a man was racially verbally abused and punched in the face.
The offender is described as a white man, aged around 22 or 23 years old, 5ft 8in tall of slim build with short, gingery brown hair. Officers from Sigma, the Force's dedicated hate crime investigation unit, are appealing to anyone with any information about the incident to come forward. DC Polly O'Brien said: "People who carry out hate crimes should be left in no doubt that their behaviour will not be tolerated and action will be taken to ensure they are arrested and prosecuted. "We are investigating this incident and are keen to speak to anyone with any information that could help our enquiries. In particular, we would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV, or anyone who recognises him, in case he has information that is important to the investigation."
