EasyJet has announced two new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Newquay in Cornwall and the French City of Nantes, starting in Summer 2013.
Newquay becomes the airline's fourth domestic route from JLA, alongside Belfast, the Isle of Man and Jersey, while Nantes becomes the fifth French destination available.
Flights to Newquay will start on July 4, 2013, operating three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flights to Nantes will start the day after, twice per week on Mondays and Fridays.
Ali Gayward, easyJet Commercial Manager commented: “We are thrilled to be announcing new routes for Liverpool Airport and have carefully selected destinations to compliment the wide range of cities we already serve from the airport.
“The news demonstrates easyJet’s continued commitment to Liverpool as one our largest airport bases in the UK and a key gateway to the North of England. Our new services to Nantes and Newquay should prove popular with UK holidaymakers and business travellers looking for an easy and affordable way to reach Western France or Cornwall.”
Craig Richmond, CEO Peel Airports commented, “We are naturally delighted that easyJet are looking to grow their business from Liverpool further. These new routes help to increase the choice and widen the range of destinations on offer from here for passengers from across the North West.
Holidaymakers will soon be able to choose to fly to the Cornish coast in England or to the west coast of France from Liverpool and we look forward to continuing to work closely with easyJet to explore further opportunities over the coming weeks too.”
