Martin Solomon desperately needs a life-saving bone marrow transplant.

The 20-year-old from Sale is fighting cancer for the second time.

A worldwide search for a donor has so far been unsuccessful.

Martin spoke to students at Trafford College in Altrincham who signed up to the bone marrow register during their lunch hour.

The Anthony Nolan trust, the charity helping Martin find a donor, is one of the charities being supported by ITV's Text Santa appeal.

Text Santa is on ITV 1 next Friday, December 21, 8pm-11pm.

Presenters Ant and Dec, Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Paddy McGuinness and Christine Bleakley will be joined by a host of celebrities to raise money for six charities.

Find out if the Loose Women panellists have the X factor, watch A Christmas Corrie with stars past and present and Gary Barlow will be singing a duet with Dawn French.

This year, the chosen charities are Age UK, Carers UK, Anthony Nolan trust, Marie Currie Cancer Care, Whizz Kidz and Together for Short Lives.
