Police are appealing for information after the body of a woman was discovered on the beach at Cleveleys near to Rossall Point, Fleetwood.
The discovery was made by a man walking his dog at around 9am on Sunday December 23.
As yet, the woman has not been identified but a post-mortem examination has established that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
The woman is described as white with a slim build and aged between 40-55yrs. She had collar length brown hair and was wearing black tight River Island leggings, a black Head top and brown casual shoes.
She was wearing a silver coloured “Spirit” dress style watch, and also had prominent, discoloured teeth and may have been a smoker.
Detective Inspector Bunn from Lancashire Constabulary said: “I would appeal to anyone who thinks they may recognise the description of this woman to come forward and contact the police.
“I would also ask people to check on their neighbours. Perhaps someone matching this description lives near them but they have not seen them for a while.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Fleetwood Police on 101.
