D-Day for Salford City Reds

Salford City Reds may have played their last game.
The rugby league club faces a winding up hearing today over claims it owes money to the taxman and two former players.
The chairman of opponents Swinton Lions, John Kidd, yesterday agreed to donate most of their gate receipts to the 130-year old outfit.
Salford are reportedly £600,000 in debt and seeking new investment.
Salford City Reds chairman John Wilkinson told the club's website he was proud of the clubs pulling together.
– Chairman John WilkinsonIt's a fantastic gesture from John Kidd and his board of directors and one that we'll remember. It's great that these two famous old clubs are fighting so hard together to ensure that the people of the city of Salford have sporting teams to watch and be proud of.
