Two men killed in crash identified as brothers

Two brothers who died after a collision in the Boothstown area of Salford have been identified by police.

Robert Crooks, 33, and Scott Best, 27, both from Salford, died after a catastrophic crash on Leigh Road last Thursday evening.

Their families have been informed and a dedicated officer from Greater Manchester Police has been appointed to liaise with the family.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle and remains in police custody for questioning.

Senior Investigating Officer, Police Sergeant Lee Westhead, said: "An investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the collision and the events leading up to it.

"My thoughts are with the family of the two men who have lost their lives."
