Sentencing for Shaw gas blast man

A man will be sentenced for the manslaughter of a two-year-old boy in an explosion that destroyed houses in Shaw.

Andrew Partington, 27, admitted the manslaughter of his two-year-old neighbour Jamie Heaton in the explosion he caused which "obliterated" his and next door's terraced house, with the rest of the row and surrounding streets also left devastated.

He also pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Jamie and eight charges of destroying neighbouring houses in the blast on Buckley Street in Shaw, Oldham on June 26, 2012.

The estimates of the damage caused by the explosion stretched to seven figures, the blast ripping through numbers 9, 11, 1, 3, 5, 7, 13 and 15 of Buckley Street in Shaw.
