A new outdoor attraction in Manchester's Piccadilly Gardens has changed the city's skyline in time for spring.
The Manchester Starflyer is similar to a traditional chair-flyer ride, but takes its occupants higher above the city than most rides like it.
The Starflyer can transport up to 24 people 70m above Manchester, giving riders a unique view of the city and surrounding areas.
The council say the attraction is the first step in making Piccadilly Gardens a family friendly destination. It's promised a children's play area will be built in the summer.
Cllr Pat Karney, Manchester City Council's city centre spokesperson, said: "We want Piccadilly Gardens to be a top family friendly destination and this star attraction will make the most of this great space.
"In the Manchester Starflyer, we have a ride that offers not only white knuckle excitement, but is also a real statement - a brand new icon of the Manchester skyline - and will attract thousands of people to the city centre."
