MP calls for tougher laws on dog attacks

Bolton West MP Julie Hilling is calling for tougher dog laws following the death of 14-year-old Jade Anderson from Atherton.

Jade was mauled by a pack of dogs last month.

Thousands of people have signed the 'Justice for Jade' online petition calling for a change in the law.

Julie Hilling said:

“Changes to the law on dangerous dogs must go further than just making it possible to prosecute owners for dog attacks on private property”

Ms Hilling has started a petition calling for legislation to cover attacks both on people and other animals on private and public property.
