Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the Grane Road near Haslingden in the early hours of this morning. The incident happened at 1.55am when a silver Vauxhall Vectra travelling towards Haslingden from Blackburn left the road on a right hand bend near to the quarry entrance and collided with a house. Sadly the driver of the car, a 33 year old man from Blackburn, died at the scene. An 18 year old man, also from Blackburn, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital with chest injuries. His injuries are serious but not life threatening.The road was closed for some time to deal with the incident and for accident investigation.Sgt Steve Wignall, from Lancashire Constabulary's Road Policing Unit, said: "I would appeal for anyone who saw this collision or who saw the vehicle involved in the moments leading up to the collision, to get in touch with us."Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting log number 193 of Sunday, April 21st.
