The family of a teenager who died following a collision in Cumbria have paid tribute to a “very beautiful girl.”

Bethany Louise Crook tragically died at Furness General Hospital after she was involved in a collision with a minibus on Wednesday 1st May 2013.

Her parents said: “Bethany was a very happy girl who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Last weekend she was very excited to see One Direction Live. She was a very beautiful girl.

“It hasn't really sunk in properly yet that she has gone. So of course there are lots of tears. She has received lots of tributes on Facebook from lots of people. They are very hard to read but also very nice to see what a very popular girl she was. Missing her so much.”

The driver of the minibus, a man aged 26 from Windermere was not injured. The seven passengers on the bus, all from Windermere School aged between 16 and 17 and travelling to an event in Barrow-in-Furness were not injured.

Cumbria Police say no arrests have been made and enquiries continue today in relation to the circumstances.
