A bike thief was arrested, seconds after being spotted stealing a bike.
Jason Hyland, who's 41, was captured on CCTV as he cut through a bike lock in the city centre.
Officers were alerted and gave chase, moments after he set off.
Hyland was thrown to the ground and arrested.
The next day, he was jailed for 18 weeks for the theft.
Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson said: "The dispensation of swift justice, as we have seen for Hyland, shows just how seriously the police and the courts take bike thefts and I hope this sends out a strong message to would-be thieves that we are watching you and you will be sent to prison."
