Thousands of court workers across the North West will stage half-day strike over changes to their pay, pensions and conditions.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services Union are expected to stop working at 1.00pm today.
4500 workers belong to the PCS in the North West. Union officials believe 80 per cent of them will join the walkout.
The action could severely disrupt cases being heard in larger courts at Manchester, Liverpool and Preston.
