Runners in Manchester are showing their love for the city.
The We Love MCR Charity 10k run started at Sport City this morning.
Olympic athlete and World Championship and Commonwealth Games medallist Dean Macey was amongst the team of supporters who joined the Lord Mayor of Manchester to officially launch this year's race at the Etihad Campus.
Known as 'the people's run', the race raises money for the We Love MCR Charity (formerly the Lord Mayor of Manchester's Charity).
A key focus of the charity is on children, young people, families and elderly people experiencing disadvantage with the purpose of making a difference to people's lives.
Last year the charity was able to provide support for a number of local community projects including visually impaired cricket club Lancashire Lion and the Transport for Sick Children charity, which takes children to hospital appointments across Greater Manchester.
2,800 people entered the race which follows a route around the outside of the Manchester City ground and the local area.
