The race is a great chance for people to show their support for Manchester.
Known as 'the people's run', the race raises money for the We Love MCR Charity (formerly the Lord Mayor of Manchester's Charity).
A key focus of the charity is on children, young people, families and elderly people experiencing disadvantage with the purpose of making a difference to people's lives.
– Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Elaine Boyes
The money raised makes a real difference to the people of Manchester.
Last year the charity was able to provide support for a number of local community projects including visually impaired cricket club Lancashire Lion and the Transport for Sick Children charity, which takes children to hospital appointments across Greater Manchester.
2,800 people entered the race which follows a route around the outside of the Manchester City ground and the local area.
– Sports Tours International Race Director Graham Jackson
The race is a great chance for people to show their support for Manchester. Last year we had a record number of runners take to the streets.
The We Love MCR charity is a fantastic charity and one that needs the support of its people.
