Friday starts very windy with heavy rain around first thing. A treacherous start to the day on the roads. Fog over higher ground.
The rain eases from the south later, but even as the rain edges away northwards, there will still be some blustery showers during the afternoon, especially in the west over the Isle of Man and Cumbria.
Friday afternoon will definitely be brighter than the morning, feeling more humid than Thursday with warmer temperatures than Thursday since we will be in a warm sector behind the main front. Winds moderate SW'erly.
Not a bad afternoon for late October.
Further showers overnight into Saturday.
Saturday itself will be very cloudy for much of the day, bright spells at first. We expect showers late in the afternoon, evening and overnight.
Gale force winds are likely on a strong showery flow, especially across the Isle of Man. Inland more sheltered.
The Met Office have a weather warning in force for intense, heavy rain. Some uncertainty on the timing, track and the intensity of the low.
