A largely cloudy day, the cloud thick enough for some patchy at rain times, mainly over the Pennines. However, for most it will be another dry day. Maximum Temperature 7 °C.
Patchy rain will spread southwards during the evening and overnight. Clearer conditions will follow from the north towards dawn. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Much brighter skies develop for Wednesday with sunny spells. Winds freshen a little and although there will be some patchy cloud a bright, breezy and mainly dry afternoon. Afternoon highs 6-8 °C
Thursday is our big day for weather! Warnings are in places for westerly gales, especially for the morning. Gusts could reach in excess of 60mph for a time, along with a spell of rain pushing south.
Behind the rain on Thursday winds will slowly ease and cold air will quickly dig down from the north.Clearer and colder weather in store for Friday. A cold, frosty and potentially icy start but many places dry and bright with some sunshine.
