GALES Warning for Thursday
**There has been a lot of talk this week about how cold it's going to get on Friday and the risk of snow - but the main weather event is actually on Thursday and it's not for snow but wind.Strong winds will pack in from the west during Thursday morning. Mean speeds could reach 40mph for a time and gusts 60-70mph. The Met Office have a Yellow 'Be Aware' warning in place for the risk of difficult and potentially dangerous driving conditions, especially near exposed coasts and for Pennine routes.
The warning currently runs from midnight until 6pm but the strongest winds are expected during the morning before they slowly ease towards dusk.
Along with the winds a spell of rain will sink south, dragging much colder air in for Thursday night into Friday. For the Granada region, despite a few showers possible, many areas will be dry with clear spells. Snow will not be an issue for us but there will be a widespread frost and possibly some icy patches into Friday morning.
