Another spell of wet weather is expected to move northeastwards across NW England during Wednesday.
The rain will become persistent and heavy for a time before clearing away later in the afternoon, to be replaced by heavy showers. the Met Office have issued a Yellow "Be Aware' warning for parts of the region 9am to midnight New Year's Day.
The main concern is for the north of the region - for Cumbria and the Isle of Man. With further heavy rain falling on already saturated ground, the public should be aware of the potential for localised flooding, surface spray and difficult driving conditions.
Winds will also be strong.
Emphasis could change. Please keep up to date with the very latest warnings from the Met Office here.
