Preston City Council says there will be a civic funeral for Sir Tom Finney at 1.00pm on Thursday 27 February at Preston Minster.
This will be followed by a private interment service for Sir Tom’s family.
Information about how to get tickets to see the civic funeral broadcast at Deepdale Stadium can be found below.
Where to see the funeral
Arrangements are being made to broadcast the funeral of Sir Tom Finney live on the big screen inside Deepdale Stadium - the home of Preston North End and where Sir Tom graced the pitch and played most of his games.
With the number of people who are expected to watch the funeral, this live broadcast will be by ticket only.
Tickets are free and available from Preston North End via their normal ticket outlets:
Telephone: 0844 8561966.
In person at the ticket office in the Club Shop at Deepdale.
Deepdale is the only place where you will be guaranteed to be able to watch the funeral. Given the number of people attending the funeral, Church Street (by Preston Minster) will be closed to traffic and pedestrians.
