Symptoms of Cervical Cancer

The symptoms of cervical cancer aren't always obvious. That is why it's important for women to attend cervical screening appointments.

Unusual Bleeding

  • Bleeding after sex
  • Bleeding outside of your normal periods
  • New bleeding after the menopause

Other Symptoms

  • Pain and discomfort during sex
  • An unpleasant smelling vaginal discharge

Advanced Cervical Cancer

If the cancer spreads out of your cervix it can trigger a range of other symptoms:

  • Constipation
  • Blood in your urine
  • Loss of bladder control
  • Bone pain
  • Swelling in one of your legs
  • Changes to bowel and bladder habits
  • Loss of appetite
  • Tiredness and lack of energy
