An armed forces charity has stepped in to offer the family of murdered Middleton Fusilier Lee Rigby an amazing gift - a garden makeover.
Parents Lynn and Ian Rigby told how work to renovate their garden had been put on hold when Lee was murdered near his barracks in Woolwich last May.
The Rigbys said their garden was their 'safe haven' - a place where they could reflect on what had happened to their son. But it had become overgrown and untidy and merely a reminder of how much they missed him.
The charity Forces Support offered their services for free - totally transforming the garden into a paved back yard, with new fencing, gravel areas, a summer house and attractive shrubberies.
