Saturday could turn out to be the hottest day of the year so far, and is set to steal the title from Friday 16th May.
Yesterday, temperatures peaked at 21.3c through parts of Cheshire - but values today were already up to 20.2c by midday, climbing to 20.5c in Nantwich by 1pm.
There is the potential for the mercury to climb by another degree or two during the next hour or so, so it looks like we may be on course to pip Friday's top temperature.
Plenty of sun around the region for the remainder of Saturday, but always cloudier in the NW of the region and across the Isle of Man. Breezy through the Irish Sea, best of any sunshine through the SE of the region. Highs expected to peak around 21-22c, 72f.
