Showers will become more widespread through the day and are likely to be sometimes heavy and thundery in the afternoon, especially across Cumbria where winds will be lighter and showers slow moving.
Sunny spells will develop too, especially towards evening, and more likely for Cheshire and the High Peak. It will feel warm in any sunny breaks with highs of 17°C.
Sunny spells on Monday with temperatures a little warmer but showers may develop with again the risk of hail/thunder.
Showers are more likely up the Pennines pine, with West lancs, West Cumbria and the Isle of Man fairing better for drier and brighter conditions.
