Police are investigating after 13-year-old boy almost drowns in the canal in Middleton.
Shortly after 8pm on Sunday 6 January, police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Services were called to a stretch of canal near to Boarshaw Clough Way in Middleton, Rochdale to reports that a 13-year-old boy had fallen into the canal.He was playing with friends in and around the water.
The boy was recovered from the water and given CPR at the scene. He was then taken to hospital for further treatment and his condition is currently thought to be critical.
