The Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, Allan Bell, is fighting to retain their EU links despite the Brexit decision.

A letter has been sent to David Cameron raising concerns over how Crown Dependencies will be treated when the UK leaves Europe.

The Dependencies include the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands and although not part of the EU they enjoy a special relationship thanks to the UK's membership.

"For all the Crown Dependencies, our closest relationship is with the UK.

"It is our understanding that the UK’s withdrawal from the EU will not prevent the continued free trade in goods and services, the free movement of capital and the free movement of people between our jurisdictions."

– Joint letter to Prime Minister David Cameron.

"We would be grateful for your confirmation, therefore, that undertakings given that the Crown Dependencies will be kept informed on matters of interest to us are adhered to,and where appropriate, are able to contribute to relevant discussions and negotiations."
