On Thursday, July 28, two men were travelling on a motorbike along Bury Old Road, North Manchester before stopping behind a cash in transit van.

The rear pillion passenger got off the motorbike and shouted at the driver to give him the cash box he was carrying whilst brandishing a knife.

The cash in transit driver threw the box, which was empty, at the man who then fled the scene on the motorbike towards the city centre.

Officers investigating the robbery have released CCTV images of the men they would like to speak to.

Detective Inspector Chris Flint of GMP's City of Manchester Team, said:

This is a terrifying robbery that has left the cash in transit driver very shaken.

I'm appealing to anyone who may recognise the men on the motorbike or the motorbike itself to get in touch.

I am also appealing to the members of the public in the CCTV images to come forward and give us any information they have about the incident.

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 3925 or 101 quoting 1042 of 28/07/16 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
