This video shows Saturn and its rings in the night sky... and amazingly it was taken on a mobile phone from a garden in Salford.
The footage was captured last night (Thursday) by amateur stargazer Tim Keegan, 33, from his home on The Mead near Buile Hill park.
It shows the pale yellow gas giant – the sixth planet from the sun in our solar system – surrounded by orange rings.
Tim, a carer, says that he often heads out into the garden to stargaze, but that he had never seen Saturn so clearly before.
Stargazers are also in for a treat next week as the annual Perseid meteor shower lights up the night sky.
The event is one of the brightest and most active meteor showers of the year with up to 200 meteors or ‘shooting stars’ an hour expected in 2016 - double the usual rate due to an outburst. This year it will peak on the night of August 11 and 12.
