Police have praised residents for their help after witnesses proved instrumental in helping catch and jail three armed robbers from Oldham.
Michael Watson, Wesley Harper and Philip Littleford, 36, were sentenced to a combined 19 years at Leeds Crown Court today.
All were sentenced for an armed robbery at a local store in Wrenthorpe, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, on August 31st 2016.
Watson was sentenced to six years, while Harper received six years and Littleford seven years.
The three pleaded guilty to the armed robbery in which they entered a store and threatened a female staff member inside with a knife and shotgun.
The men then made off with a quantity of cash from the till and a charity box.
Wakefield Police identified and arrested the men within days of the offence following enquiries and information from residents.
DS Steve Sayles of Wakefield District CID, said: "I want to thank members of the public in both Wrenthorpe and Oldham who came forwards with some excellent information to help us arrest and then build a very strong case with which to prosecute these men."
He added: "These men richly deserved their sentences for what was, for them, an opportunistic robbery which proved to be a terrifying experience for their victim.
"She was unharmed but left very shocked by what took place and I hope she can take some comfort from seeing these three men put behind bars."
