Man appears in court after hit and run in Cheadle

Marc Anthony Dightam has been charged with attempted murder and appeared at Stockport Magistrates Court after a man was hit by a car in Cheadle on Boxing Day.

Police have said the 41-year-old man is still seriously ill and faces more surgery including skin grafts, following the crash on High Street, Cheadle.

The man was walking along High Street at around 7.50pm when a silver Mercedes-Benz A-Class crashed into him.

The victim has woken from his coma and is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Marc Anthony Dightam, 32, from Cheadle Hulme has been charged with attempted murder and has appeared at Stockport Magistrates Court.

The defendant spoke only to confirm his name and address and did not enter a plea.

The case was committed to Manchester Crown Court on Thursday, January 26th 2017. Bail was denied and he was remanded into custody.
