North West schools need "urgent attention" to improve children's performance and aspirations, according to a report. Tatton MP and former Chancellor George Osborne's northern powerhouse think tank says schools must provide the next generation with skills, inspiration and training.
According to the report, the area loses 30,000 graduates a year as students choose to move away after completing their studies. Also in urgent need of improvement are the transport infrastructure and fibre and broadband provision. Mr Osborne says its time to really close the North-South gap and he believes our economy can grow by £100billion.
