There are fears for the long-term future of the Vauxhall plant at Ellesmere Port after a French car maker confirmed it was buying the European arm of General Motors.
More than two thousand people work at the Cheshire site. It's understood the French company PSA, which owns Citroen and Peugeot, is saying their jobs are safe until around the year 20-21. By that time the new owners will have decided where they're going to build the new Astra model. But the question now is where that new car will be built - at Ellesmere Port or somewhere in Europe.
