A man has pleaded guilty to causing the death by dangerous driving of a four-year-old girl on Merseyside.
Violet-Grace Youens died in her mother's arms in hospital last month, days after she and her grandmother were struck by a car as they walked near their home in St Helens.
Aiden McAteer, 23, appeared by videolink at Liverpool Crown Court and, with his head bowed down, admitted causing Violet-Grace's death by dangerous driving.
McAteer, who's from Prescot, also admitted causing serious injury to Violet-Grace's grandmother Angela French in the crash on March 24.
A second man, Dean Ian Brennan, 27, appeared alongside McAteer. He admitted aggravated vehicle taking and assisting an offender.
The youngster's family were in court as proceedings took place, her mother sobbed during the hearing.
McAteer will be sentenced on 19 May.
