Police in Lancashire are trying to trace a ‘violent’ offender wanted on recall to prison.
James Butterworth, 34, was due to attend his bail hostel in Bury on Wednesday after being released from prison having served his sentence for threatening door staff at a Blackburn bar with a knife in March.
Police are urging the public not to approach him.
Sgt Paul Watterson from Blackburn Police said:
- He is described as 5ft 11ins, of medium build with blue eyes and short dark brown hair. He has a small scar on his chin and a Celtic tribal band tattoo on his upper right arm.
- Aside from Blackburn, Butterworth is also known to have connections to Rishton and Accrington.
- Anyone with information can call 101. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
