Investigation after toddler killed by car at Salford hotel

An investigation is underway after a toddler was hit by a car and died outside a Salford hotel.

The 17-month-old boy died after the collision at the Ibis Hotel just after 9 o'clock last night

Armed officers arrived at the scene but police now believe there are no suspicious circumstances.

Ibis Hotels say they are providing assistance and support to the police and the family:

We can confirm that the emergency services were called to deal with a tragic incident involving a child outside one of our hotels in Salford Quays last night. We are of course providing any assistance and support we can to the police and the family, and ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this sensitive time.
