The Mayor of Douglas on the Isle of Man is campaigning to highlight homelessness and so-called 'sofa surfing' on the island.

Debbie Pitts joined volunteers from charity Housing Matters on sofas in the town centre this afternoon.

The campaign emphasises the 'hidden homeless', as not all homeless people are on the streets.

She says there is a real problem of homelessness on the Isle of Man, and wanted to draw attention to the people sleeping on friends' couches or on the streets.
