A planning application has been submitted by the Isle of Man Government to build temporary horse tram stables in Douglas.

The Department of Infrastructure has asked for approval to build near the depot a stable, hay store, staff facilities and parking spaces.

It's location would be partly over the old Summerland site, which was demolished in 2005 and has been for sale since then.

The old Strathallan Suite stables was declared unsafe and boarded up when Government took ownership of the horse trams.
