Arrests have been made following a spate of distraction thefts in Oldham.
Police are investigating after eighteen distraction thefts have been recorded across the borough since September.
A number of reports have been made to police that a man who does not appear to speak English approaches members of the public with a map to ask for directions.
At the point that he is asking for directions it has been reported that personal belongings and valuables have been stolen.
Officers have arrested a 35-year-old man and a 23-year-old man on suspicion of theft and burglary.
They remain in custody for questioning.
