The family of a devoted mum-of-three found stabbed to death have paid tribute to a ‘very special person’.
Elizabeth Merriman, known as Liz, due to celebrate her 40th birthday later this month, was discovered at her home in October.
A post-mortem found the mother, from Birch Crescent in Newhey, Rochdale, Manchester, had died of stab wounds to her torso and abdomen.
In a moving tribute on Monday, her grieving relatives said she was a ‘beautiful and loving’ person who would be ‘greatly missed’ by all who knew her, including the children in care she worked with.

Tributes also flooded in from friends, with a crowdfunding campaign set up to raise money for her funeral and her three sons.
Detectives, who were alerted to the tragedy at around 11.30pm on Sunday, October 22, have described it as an ‘isolated incident.’
