Police are investigating a suspected arson attack at a block of flats in Manchester.
Emergency crews were called to a fire at three-storey Woodlands Court, in Offerton, on Thursday night. An hour before the fire officers were called to the area following reports a man had been making threats.
The blaze ripped through the first floor flat causing a large amount of damage. Five flats, were evacuated and the area cordoned off, there were no reports of any injuries.
Steve Johnston, watch manager at Offerton fire station, said: “It is under investigation and the flats were treated as a crime scene, no one could get in last night. It is the biggest fire we have had in Stockport for a while.”
