Wednesday night - Winter storm Photo: Met. Office

A deepening low pressure system, spawned in the USA travels across the Atlantic towards the UK tomorrow.

By Wednesday night, and the early hours of Thursday it will bring gusts up to 80 mph for many exposed areas in the UK and snow across Scotland and northern England

If the Met. Office decide to name the system as part of this storm season it will be named Georgina. As yet it does not meet the criteria required.

Storm Ffion has been named by Met Eireann today for the wind and rain affecting SW Ireland but only exists in Ireland and will not affect England, Scotland or Wales
