A woman left paralysed from the chest down after a riding accident ten years ago is determined to complete the Greater Manchester Marathon - raising thousands of pounds for charity in the process.

Claire Lomas uses a special bionic which allows her to take steps.

She has previously completed the London Marathon in 17 days - but is determined to smash her record for this route.

Lise McNally caught up with her around the 11 mile mark:

After my accident, everything had changed. I never thought I'd be happy and be paralysed.

And now I wouldn't change my life because of what I've got. Two lovely little girls, plus the opportunities I've had.
