Four men aged 43, 45, 46, 58 and three women aged 36, 50 and 53 have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody for questioning.

Enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing.

Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Daniels of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said:

Although we have seven people in custody, we are still in the early stages of our investigation into how this man has died.

Specially trained officers are now giving the man’s family the support they need at this difficult time and my thoughts are with them.

– Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Daniels

"While we believe there’s no risk to the wider community, it’s vital that we hear from people who live in the area and heard a disturbance towards the end of last night or the early hours of this morning."
