Marie McManus: Family's urgent appeal to find woman missing in Spain

The worried family of a woman who went missing while on holiday in Spain have issued an urgent public appeal to find her.

Marie McManus from Hazel Grove, Greater Manchester, last had contact with her family 44 days ago on Sunday July 15.

Her family said she's borrowed a mobile phone to tell them that a handbag containing her own mobile had been stolen.

Her bank account hasn’t been accessed since July 11.

Police in Spain and Interpol have been alerted and her passport has been flagged.

We just want her to call one of us - just to let us know she is okay. If she doesn’t want to come home that’s fine. We just want to know she’s safe and well.

The family are very concerned about her and just want to know she’s safe.

Britons living in southern Spain and holidaymakers preparing to fly out to the Costa del Sol are being urged to keep an eye out for Ms McManus.

Those in the coastal resorts of Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Malaga and Marbella are being urged to circulate her details and spread the word.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the police in Spain, via the 112 emergency number, or the UK police on 101.
