Friday now looks a little more promising than it did at the start of this week. Although showers are still possible it should be a bright and breezy day across most parts.
As we head into the weekend, high pressure sits to the south of the UK, allowing weather fronts to sweep in from the west over the coming days.
Outbreaks of rain are likely at least for a time on Saturday, but it should become drier later, especially for Cheshire and the High Peak.
Warmer Sunday into Monday, with Sunday looking like the best day of the weekend (drier and brighter ) before wet and windy weather arrives from the west during Monday.
