A group of five Labour MPs are calling on the government to scrap the tolls on the Mersey Gateway, almost a year after it opened.

Faisal Rashid, Mike Amesbury, Maria Eagle, Justin Madders, Chris Matheson and Conor McGinn have penned a joint letter to Transport Minister Jesse Norman, in which they describe a "clear economic case to ending the tolls."

The MPs say many people in their constituencies have been left £1000 worse off by having to pay to cross the bridge.
