Tributes to LCpl Michael Foley, nicknamed 'Axel' have continued to pour in. LCpl Foley leaves behind wife, Sophie, and three young children, Calum, Warren and Jake.

Head teacher pays tribute to LCpl Foley

The former teacher of Lance Corporal Michael Foley has paid tribute to the solider, who was killed in Afghanistan,

He was a popular, outgoing pupil. He was very sure of himself and knew very early on that he wanted to join the forces.

He was never shy of putting his point of view forward!

The family of Lance Corporal Michael Foley, killed by a rogue Afghan gunman in Lashkar Gar, have paid tribute to "proud" solider

Michael passed away while on operational duty in Afghanistan where he was very proud to be serving his country in support of our combined forces in this theatre of operations.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and everyone privileged to serve with him both on his last tour and during his military career.
