Firefighters battle flooding in 40 houses in Maghull
Following an assessment, firefighters started to pump water, which was thought to include some contaminated water from drains, from the properties which were worst affected. Six engines were sent to the area. There was around three foot of water in places.

Up to 20-30mm of rain is expected across the North West region in the next 24 hours.
